About Project FUTURE

The College of Education at Texas Tech University, the Greater Texas Foundation, and surrounding area school districts are cooperatively involved in a program, Project FUTURE,  to recruit diverse students into a career in teaching.

The basic idea of Project FUTURE is that before students can consider teaching as a career, they must first believe that college is a possibility for them.

Guidelines for Student Selection

  • Having a strong interest in investigating teaching as a career.
  • Possessing good academic ability with potential for success in college.
  • Having a history  of participation in school and youth organizations.
  • Being unlikely to be college bound without special support and encouragement.
  • Being the first generation of a family to go to college.
